Jude 4

Jude 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude talks about these wicked men who may have crept into our church. Why does someone creep around? They are being sneaky for some reason, and it isn’t because they are setting up a birthday party. Absolutely not! They are up to no good. Jude identifies them as ungodly men who twist the Word of God to say something that it does not say. And what is worst of all, these ungodly men put down Jesus Christ. They say that Jesus was not really the “only begotten Son of God”, as spoken of in John 3:16. But Jesus is special! Acts 4:12 identifies Jesus as the only way to heaven. Jesus himself said in John 14:6 that He was the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to God the Father except that they come by Jesus Christ. So here is the “Jesus Test”: if someone says that Jesus was only a good man, he is a false teacher. If someone says that Jesus wasn’t the only begotten Son of God, he is a liar and the truth is not in him. If someone says that There are other ways to get to heaven besides by Jesus Christ, run away from them as fast as you can! They are trouble! So again, what is this called? It is called “The Jesus Test.” John 5:12 says it best: “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” You have Jesus, you have eternal life; you don’t have Jesus, you have nothing!
