Daniel 6:10

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. Daniel was an old man of 85 or 90 years in our verse for today. But Daniel was faithful to God and his king. He had served Nebuchadnezzar and his son, Nabonidus. He had advised Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson, and now he was serving Darius, the Persian king. Daniel prayed three times each day with his window opened towards Jerusalem, God’s holy city. But his fellow administrators cooked up a plan to get rid of Daniel. He was too honest for them. They had the king sign a crooked law forbidding Daniel to pray. So what did Daniel do? He prayed anyway. Daniel feared God more than he feared the crooked administrators. And God honored Daniel’s faithfulness. God protected Daniel in the den of hungry lions and God will protect you too! God loves his children and will take care of them. Our job is to be faithful, just like Daniel, Trust God. He’ll never let you down! Oh by the way, happy birthday, Will!
