I Samuel 25:14,15

I Samuel 25:14,15 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them. But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields. David and his 400 men had been protecting Nabal’s shepherds from the Philistines for some time. David reminded Nabal and asked Nabal to give them a little food for their work. But Nabal was a rude man and replied rudely to David’s men. When David heard of it, he was furious! He made plans to go down and wipe them all out! But one of the young men told Nabal’s wife Abigail. And she was a lot smarter than her husband. She gathered some supplies and intercepted David. David softened when Abigail spoke to him. She was understanding. She was diplomatic; not like her crude husband. David calmed down and thanked Abigail for her good words. David said, “You have just stopped me from doing something that I would have later regretted. Nabal was rude, but that is no reason to kill someone.” God had protected David through Abigail. Has God ever protected you from doing something dumb? Let’s talk about it.
