I Samuel 18:6-8

I Samuel 18:6-8 And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. Uh oh! The girls’ singing caused David trouble with King Saul! David had been braver than Saul. He had killed Goliath. And now the girls made up a song about David. Saul became jealous of David and began to eye David. But David realized what was going on, and David was careful. David watched what he said around Saul and was careful in his activities. Saul gave David difficult assignments to do; but David did them well. So David’s popularity grew with everyone - except King Saul! God’s Holy Spirit departed from Saul and Saul became angrier and angrier. But God was with David and blessed David and prospered everything that David did. Do you want to be like Saul or like David? I want to be like David.
