I Samuel 17:45,46

I Samuel 17:45,46 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. As David went out to meet Goliath, he picked up five smooth stones from the creek as ammo. He would use his sling shot, just as he had on a lion and a bear who had tried to make off with one of his little lambs. They had gotten nowhere. With God’s help, David had killed both of them! And as David faced Goliath, he knew God would be with him once again! And God was! David let the stone fly and God sent it right into Goliath’s fore head! Goliath fell down flat! And as the Philistine army looked on in horror, David pulled out Goliath’s own sword and chopped of the giant’s head! The Philistines’ hearts sank and they took off running in fear. The Israelites shouted in victory and took off after the Philistines! David was the hero of the day, all because he had dared to obey God. Are you ready to stand up for God? I hope so!
