Daily Bread

In 1998, a dear Romanian pastor had an old, old Renault.  He was always working on it to keep it going.  But Brother Florin was more worried about the lack of food in one of his poor village churches than he was repairing his Renault.  While I was staying with him one cold November evening, he came home with the back of his little car totally filled with bread.  The load of bread was all the way down to the floorboard and all the way up into the back seat.  There must have been 75 loaves of Romanian bread in the car.  Brother Florin had found a bargain and had bought out the entire bakery.  What a blessing the next morning to meet the needs of hungry people.  Hey, are you meeting the needs of others during this Covid lock down?  So many are out of work.  So many are stuck at home.  If you are working, you are blessed.  Jesus told us to pray like this in Matthew 6:9-11, “… Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.”  Sometimes “daily bread” is all that some folks can afford.  Sometimes not even that.  Are you blessed?  Then share the blessing with someone else this Christmas season.  You’ll be glad that you did.
