What's Important to You?

I heard the story of a man who went to junk yards and quietly bought owner’s manuals left in the glove box of junked cars.  He began to advertise them on Amazon and e-bay and made a fortune.  Like they say, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”  Hey, what do you value as important?  Is God and church important to you?  What does it take to make you stay home from church?  If one of your kids has a sniffle, do you stay home?  But of course, you make it to work on Monday no matter how bad they feel.  What if the Lord made your child as sick as you told the pastor that they were?  Hey, if you want to make it to church you will.  Hebrews 10:25 says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”  The writer of Hebrews is saying that we need more church services, not fewer.  We need to get serious as the coming of the Lord draws near.  Hey, get serious about serving God.  When you face Him someday, you’ll be glad that you did.
