Fischer Evans

In 1998 I worked on Lookout Mt. remodeling a house originally built in 1868.  The next-door neighbor, Becky G., liked my work and asked me to help her on a display case at her jewelry store downtown Chattanooga.  I made her black, velvet-covered panels and installed halogen lights above to make her display case sparkle.  She was very pleased, but her husband was not.  It seems that the bright bulbs heated up the store too much.  Today, with LED lights, the display case could have sparkled AND stayed cool.  Miss G. had the right idea: the bright lights coupled with the black velvet background made the diamonds in the display case pop.  Hey, as our world becomes darker with evil, the light of the hope of the Lord will shine brighter and brighter!  The key is the contrast.  Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”  As the wicked world looks at your life, do you sparkle?  And when you do, do you give the good Lord the credit for your sparkle?  May it be so.
