Control

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to get someone to do something that you want them to do? Oh, it’s pretty easy to get little kids to “obey”, but the older they get, the harder it is to get them to do what you tell them to do. Hey, just wait until your kids are forty years old! And does your spouse do what you want them to do? I have noticed that the only person that I have any real control over is myself. And then, I have trouble controlling myself! But there is a way to control others. Now are you interested? You can pray for them. You can unleash the power of the Blessed Holy Spirit to convict their hearts and to work on them. But be careful when you pray, because the same Holy Spirit may change YOUR heart. But after all, isn’t God’s will what we all really want in life? It’s not about us, it’s not about or our kids, or it’s not about our spouse, it’s about God. Hey, pray the Lord’s Prayer … and really mean it: “ Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.
