II Samuel 12:5-7

II Samuel 12:5-7 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man … When King David sinned with Bathsheba, he thought that he had covered everything up just fine. But God knew what had happened and God sent Nathan, His prophet, to confront David. So Nathan told this sad, sad story about a rich man who stole a family’s pet lamb just to feed it to a visitor of his. David was mad at this man. He said that the man should pay four times over for his evil act. But then Nathan made the application of the story: he told David that he was the man! And David just melted. He knew that he had been had! But then David’s character came out. David owned up to his sin and David repented of his sin. Always remember: no matter how bad the sin, God is ready to forgive if we repent with tears and sorrow. God loves sinners: little ones and big ones.
