II Samuel 15:6

II Samuel 15:6 And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. Absalom weaseled his way into the hearts of the people right under David’s nose. When someone had a problem and brought it to the king, Absalom was standing at the door saying, “Too bad. Now if I were the king I would solve your problem. But my father won’t do anything for you. Too bad.” And so everyone began to wish Absalom were king. After a terrible civil war, Absalom was killed and David was restored as the rightful king. But why did all of this happen? David had sinned and taught his children to sin too. David had not corrected his son and had enabled him to do evil things. Remember: God sees everything. God hates sin and God will punish sin.
