II Samuel 8:9-11

II Samuel 8:9-11 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer, Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass: Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued. There is a saying, “If my enemy is your enemy, then we are friends.” When King Toi heard that King David had defeated Hadadezer, his enemy, he was glad. He sent his son, Joram, to congratulate David and to bring him gifts of gold and silver and brass vessels. But David knew the secret of his victory over Hadadezer. David knew that God had blessed him, so David dedicated the vessels to God and put them in the Tabernacle. David was smart and David was humble. He loved God and respected God, and knew that God had blessed him. Do we realize God’s blessing upon us every day? I hope so!
