The Narrow Gate

Often when we were leaving Romania, we would spend the night in Salzburg, Austria on the way to the airport in Munich, Germany.  Salzburg was the setting for “The Sound of Music” with Julie Andrews.  I enjoyed seeing some of the places that were in the film.  I tried to find the cemetery where the family hid from the Nazi’s as they were escaping.  I knew that I was in the right area, but just couldn’t find the entrance.  Finally, around a corner, there was this little small iron gate that led into a courtyard, and there it was!  The little iron gate let to the place that I was looking for.  There were many gates in Salzburg, but this was the only one that led to the cemetery in the film.  Hey, Jesus talked about a narrow gate that leads to heaven.  He said in Matthew 7:14, “… strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”  There are millions and millions of people passing through life.  But only a few who are seeking that small, little gate that leads to life everlasting.  The others are unknowingly headed down that wide road that leads to destruction.  Hey, are you on the road to destruction or on the road to life?  Are you headed for that wide gate or are you seeking that narrow gate?  The choice is up to you.
