Trash Can

My daughter is the director at an independent living facility in Hixson, Tennessee.  Let me give a shout-out to Everlan of Hixson.  There has been an ongoing mini war about the placement of a garbage can in the hallway.  One resident moved it away from the elevator where he has to stand and wait for the elevator to take him upstairs.  But when he moves the garbage can down the hallway away from the elevator, it is nearer to the doorway of another resident who doesn’t want it near her doorway.  So back to the elevator she moves it.  It’s a nice-looking garbage can with a polished brass finish and a spring-loaded cover, but any way you dress it up, it’s still a garbage can.  Hey, David said in Psalm 51:1&4, “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness … against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight …”  Any way that you dress up your sin, it stinks in the Lord’s nostrils.  You may dress it up and try to make it look polished and refined, but it is still stinking sin before a holy God.  Hey, just admit it, ask forgiveness, and forsake your sin.  God will hear your prayer, He will forgive your sin, and He will restore your relationship with Him.  Come clean before God, and He will do the rest.  Now for the solution of the trash can placement at Everlan …
