I Peter 3:18

I Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: The Christian life is the exchanged life. We are sinners, but Jesus took our sins upon Himself and paid for them on the cross of Calvary. And in exchange He gave us His eternal life. What a wonderful exchange! But now, we should live the exchanged life for Christ. Jesus died for us so we should live for Him. We should do the things that Jesus would do if He were here. We should be His hands and feet doing the good things that Jesus did when He was alive. Our verse says that we should crucify our flesh. That means that we should not do the selfish things that we normally would want to do. Those selfish things are called the flesh in the Bible. We should die to self – the flesh. To be quickened means to be made alive. We are spiritually made alive by the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus died for us and we should live for Him. He did so much for us! We should love and serve Him in return. That is the least that we can do.
