I Peter 4:12-14

I Peter 4:12-14 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. We are reminded that Jesus was persecuted when He was here on earth. The Jewish leaders were jealous of Him. And as His followers, we should not be surprised when we are persecuted too. Jesus suffered and, as His followers, we should expect to suffer too. If we get into trouble because we are just a troublemaker, we are getting exactly what we deserve. But if we get into trouble because we are following Jesus Christ, well that is another thing. We should be glad to suffer right along with Jesus Christ, our leader and Savior. And when we are persecuted for Jesus’ sake, He looks down from heaven and is pleased with us following Him. And Jesus’ smile makes us very happy!
