I Peter 4:8

I Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. The word charity means love. The word fervent means really serious. So our verse says that we should be really serious about loving our Christian brothers and sisters. But the last half of the verse says that our love will cover a whole bunch of sins. If you really love someone, you overlook their shortcomings. You don’t blame them. You even make excuses for them. You love them so much that you let them get away with stuff. If we love people, we will not pick at them. We will not find fault with them. Our love will make us get along with each other. And, after all, isn’t that what God wants? Hummm.
