Mark 10:25-27

Mark 10:25-27 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. As the rich young man sadly turned away, Jesus went further with his disciples. Jesus said that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astounded! They thought, “If that is true, no one can get into heaven!” And they were right! ON our own, no one can get into heaven. The only way to get into heaven is by faith in Jesus Christ! Salvation is not in what we do, salvation is in what Jesus has done … on the cross of Calvary! Salvation is not about us; it’s all about Jesus! By the way, there is a gate in Jerusalem named “The Eye of a Needle”. The big gate is shut at night so that only individual people can go in and out of the tiny door that is within the bigger closed gate. But if a camel caravan arrives late, they can still barely get through. The camel drivers must take all of the wares off of the camel and hand carry them through the tiny gate. Then, the camel must kneel down and shuffle through the narrow opening. It is possible, but the camel can’t take anything through with him. And isn’t that how we must get to heaven? We can’t take our riches; we must kneel. A good story and a wonderful truth!
