Mark 8:11

Mark 8:11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. Any time that Jesus had anything to do with the Pharisees, there was trouble. And our verse for today was no exception. Jesus had just finished feeding five thousand men and four thousand men – besides women and children – using just a few loaves of bread and a few small fish. He had healed lepers, blind men, crippled people, and deaf men and a crazy man. And here the Pharisees were “seeking a sign from heaven”? WHAT?! You’ve got to be kidding?! But Jesus knew what they were up to. He knew that they just wanted Jesus to do a trick for them. They wanted to control Jesus. But Jesus Knew what they were up to. Jesus knew that if He performed a miracle for the Pharisees, they would just ask for another, and another. Jesus knew that they would never believe. And what a shame! The Pharisees could believe. That is if they wanted to believe. But they didn’t. So what about us? Do we trust Jesus Christ? We know what Jesus is capable of doing, but do we trust Him day by day? Do we believe Jesus, or do we want more from Him. No, Jesus is enough. He is all that we need!
