Mark 6:34

Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Jesus and His disciples left Capernaum by boat to go to a deserted place near Bethsaida to get some much needed rest. His teaching and miracles had attracted such a crowd that He was just plain worn out. But as Jesus and the disciples left by boat, the people saw where they were going and ran ahead to meet them. So when Jesus stepped off the boat, there was the crowd waiting for Him! Jesus saw their eagerness and felt sorry for them. No one had organized the march; the people were just following Jesus like sheep would follow their shepherd. And Jesus had pity on them and began to teach them. They sat in the grass on the Galilean hills and listened intently as Jesus, the Son of God spoke the wonderful Words of life. How wonderful it must have been to hear Jesus speaking the New Testament Words right there in person! We can read them in the Bible, but they heard them in person for the first time! The crowd sat there hour after hour listening to Jesus. And we need to spend time with Jesus every day too. We need to read the wonderful words of life in the Bible! And we are!
