Mark 7:32-35

Mark 7:32-35 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. When a deaf man was brought to Jesus to be healed, Jesus used sign language to communicate to him! Jesus touched the man’s ears and spat on the ground. So, what does it mean when you react to someone by spitting on the ground? Well, it means that you are disgusted! And Jesus was letting this deaf man know that He was disgusted that he couldn’t hear! And then next Jesus touched the man’s tongue and looked up to heaven and prayed. And although the man couldn’t hear what was going on, he was carefully watching what Jesus was doing. I just know that the man was praying too! And suddenly, the man could hear! And the first words that he heard were the words of Jesus as He prayed for the man! But the greatest miracle was that the man immediately had all of the words in his head that he needed to have in order to speak! He didn’t have to learn the words; Jesus miraculously put them there in his mind! Most people know about 25,000 words. They learn words from their parents and from school and from reading. But this man knew 25,000 words instantaneously! He could hear, and he could speak. What a miracle! What a Savior!
