Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: The point of our verse for today is not to cut your hand off. The point is how important it is to do the right thing. The point of our verse is that we must do what we can to enter into heaven. Jesus is the only way to heaven. So whatever we have to do to get rid of things that pull us away from Jesus, we just have to do it. Later verses talk about your feet and your eyes offending. Remember the kids’ song: “O be careful little eyes what you see. O be careful little hands what you do. O be careful little feet where you go.” Jesus and heaven is so important! Don’t let anything distract you from following Jesus. Follow Jesus and you will always be glad that you did.
