Mark 10:6-9

Mark 10:6-9 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Our verses for today explain God’s plan for the home. God expects a man and a woman to get married and to stay married. Sometimes when a couple have hard times, they give up and get a divorce, but that isn’t God’s plan. God still loves people who have been divorced, but that isn’t God’s plan. Once a husband and wife are married, they become “one flesh”. So a divorce is like cutting a single body apart. It is hard and it is brutal. God expects the man and the woman to leave their families and to cling to one another and to become one forever family. God forgives someone who is divorced, but they will always have difficulties. They will have issues with trust; they will have issues with their ex’s; they will have to share their children on week-ends – there are all sorts of trouble. That is why God wants the home to stay together. That’s God’s plan.
