Roundabout in Paris

In 2005 we went on a senior trip with Sonney and Margaret Housley and two senior class boys.  We visited Metz, France and painted, cleaned, and wallpapered for three days.  We made a side trip into Paris one day for a visit.  While there, we drove around the Arc de Triomphe.  Literally.  It is a seven-lane roundabout with twelve streets coming into it!  I was in my rental car and Sonney was behind me in his rental car.  Once we got into the roundabout, we had to go around several times before the traffic cleared so that we could merge to get out of the roundabout.  One of the scariest places where I have ever driven!  Hey is your life sometimes like that?  Do you find yourself running around and around and getting nowhere?  The children of Israel felt that way as they circled Jericho in Joshua 6:2-5.  But God had a plan for them.  “And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho … And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once.  Thus shalt thou do six days … and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And … all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.”  God gave Joshua and the army of Israel a great victory.  They didn’t have to fight; they just had to obey.  So, when you find yourself running around and around getting nowhere, take heart.  God is in control.  He’s got this.  Look to Him and look for His victory!
