Talk about God

I stumbled across a “Professional Organizer” online.  What a job!  Helping people to get organized …and charging them big bucks to do it!  But one thing stuck out: don’t wait until the end of the day to tidy up; tidy up often during the day, or even during the hour.  Little bite-sized minutes of organizing does much better than putting it off until the end of the day.  Hey, this is true of teaching your children about Jesus.  Don’t plan on teaching them only on Sunday in Sunday school; talk about Jesus many times during the week.  Hey, talk about Jesus many times each day!  You don’t have to have a formal time of teaching; just talk about Jesus whenever you can work in the topic.  Moses commanded Israel to talk about God with their children all day long.  Moses said in Deuteronomy 6:5-7, “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”  Hey, this is a great lesson!  Read these verses again and see what they say.  Q: How should we love God?  A: With everything that we have!  Q: How should we teach our children about God?  A: Diligently!  Q: When should we teach them?  A: All the time; all day long!  Our children should see that God is real to us.  Hey, is God real to you?  Then talk Him up to your children.  Talk about God to your co-workers.  Talk about God all of the time!
