Faithful

Yesterday, I went by the soft drink aisle in Walmart to get some drinks, but they were out of most of the Coke products.  There was a Coca-Cola worker restocking the shelves and he had a huge pallet of drinks he was working on.  And he wasn’t happy to be so far behind.  I remarked, “Boy, you’ve got a big job to do here!”  To which he shook his head and said, “Yeah.  I can’t believe how much product these shoppers have grabbed up.  It makes my job hard.”  And he shook his head again.  But somewhere, up in some front office, is another worker – who is a company man – who is excitedly rubbing his hands instead of shaking his head.  That’s because Coca-Cola has sold a lot of product and made a lot of money.  Two workers with two very different points of view.  Hey, as our country becomes increasingly secular do we as Christians shake our heads in frustration, or do we rub our hands together gleefully anticipating opportunities to share the Gospel with an increasingly wicked world?!  Two very different points of view.  Take two minutes to read Matthew 25:14-30, the parable of the landowner and his three stewards.  See which of the three describes you!  I want to be like the steward given five talents and the one given two talents because the master (Jesus) said to them in Matthew 25:21, “… Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”  Hey, be busy serving your Master.   Someday, you’ll be glad that you did.
