God Knows Where You Are

Mr. Howell was our mailman when I was growing up.  He was a distant cousin of my best friend, Miles.  Mr. Howell was a short man who drove his own car as an RFD driver for the post office.  He had one of those big, gas-guzzling Crown Victoria’s, but he didn’t care.  His Crown Vic had room for all of his mail trays and gas was only 25¢ a gallon.  Those were the days!  Mr. Howell sat in the middle of his car and stretched his right arm to reach the mailboxes and his left leg to reach the gas pedal.  He could do that because it was in pre-seatbelt days.  He could barely see over the dash, but he managed.  One day, my dad got a letter from an old friend in West Virginia that was addressed simply, “Bill Whitely, Joppa, MD”.  That was it.  No house number, no street name, no zip code.  But Mr. Howell knew how to find Bill Whitely.  Hey, did you know that God knows how to find you?  In this big wide world, God knows where you are.  Do you sometimes feel like a nobody?  Do you feel like no one knows that you even exist?  Jesus said in Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”  Hey, you are valuable to the dear Lord.  And like a good mailman, God knows where you are.  When you call upon God, He can find you, and He will answer .  Yes, He will.
