Stuff

I heard on the radio that the storage business is big business … to the tune of $37 billion a year!  While there is nothing wrong with renting storage space, there is something so wrong about hoarding.  In the Old Testament, God gave Pharoah the dream that led Joseph to store up grain for seven years … with God’s blessing.  But in the New Testament, when the rich man tore down his barns to build bigger barns, he was condemned because of his hoarding.  Joseph was obeying God in his storage while the rich man was ignoring God with his hoarding.  So, what about you?  Do you hoard up goods for yourself, or do you trust in the good Lord to meet your future needs?  There is nothing wrong with saving for the future, but there is something wrong with leaving God out of your plans.  Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”  Hey, where is your trust?  Is your trust in your stuff. or is your trust in your Lord?
