Really?

 

When someone begins with, “I think that God would not …” and then offers their opinion, they are breaking the second commandment.  They are actually committing idolatry.  They are not speaking of the true God of the Universe; they are making a god of their own mind.  They are saying what they want God to be, not how God really is.  It’s like me saying that your favorite color is red, your favorite football team is Tampa Bay and your favorite pet is a parakeet.  Just because I say those things does not make them true.  You are who you are, not who I say that you are.  And God is not who we say He is.  We must read the Bible to find out Who God really is.  Solomon said in Proverbs 30:5, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”  The Bible is not just a collection of wisdom that we may or may not follow; the Bible is the Word of God.  Read it for good information about God.  Read it often and obey what you read.  You’ll be glad that you did!
