Well, State Farm Insurance finally called me (actually, it was Tori) and offered to settle my claim from 10 weeks ago! What Tori didn’t know was that I was prepared. I had found online that my car was worth $2,000-$6,000. But with high mileage, that knocked it down $1,000. A little ding on the fender, scratches from Kathy’s wheelchair on the rocker panel, and a worn headliner where I had been loading Kathy’s wheelchair didn’t help. I thought $3,000 - $4,000 would be a fair offer. So, Tori listed all the extra features that came with the car and mentioned the wear and tear on the vehicle. I brought up 4 Michelin tires (two were almost new) and she was duly impressed. But she wanted paperwork. So I was knocked back down. I was preparing to argue when she offered me $4,900, well over what I had expected! Without any argument, I said, “I’ll take it.” She continued to apologize for her client and for my inconvenience. I was impressed, to say the least. I will be switching from Georgia Farm Bureau to State Farm … but not until I get a check. Tori was like a good neighbor. Wait a minute … Proverbs 22:29, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Bless you, Tori!
