Flourishing

I was complaining to my daughter (who has the greenhouse in Springfield, TN) how that my summer flowers weren’t doing very well.  They had only green foliage with no blooms.  She replied, “Dad, just let them die.  Gerbera Daisys are over.  Now it’s mum season and we‘ll bring several down the next time that we come to visit.”  It dawned on me: I don’t have to keep watering those unproductive plants!  So I quit watering them.  But then five days later, the geraniums began to flower again.  It seems that I was watering them too much.  Instead of dying with no watering they were thriving!  Sometimes in life, we think we are doing the right thing, but we are mistaken.  We are doing the wrong thing.  Romans 14:16, “Let not then your good be evil spoken of.”  We may think that in this Dispensation of Grace, we have the freedom to live anyway that we please.  But even under grace, we have a responsibility to a weaker Christian brother.  Hey, you as a mature Christian are responsible to set a good example for others.  Do the right thing, Live a good Christian example, and your weak brother will flourish.
