Security

Wednesday, I got an education from Rick’s Lock and Key. My new-to-me Buick came with only one ignition key and one door key, so I stopped by Rick’s Lock and Key to get duplicates made. I have learned to use the duplicate and put the original in a safe place. If I need to make another duplicate, the original is still available and has not been worn down from daily usage. Learned that from my dad. At the key shop, the technician warned me, “A new ignition key will be $40.” He went on, “The ’97 Buick was the first year that they used an ignition security system. There are 15 different resistor values that match the key to the ignition. Makes them harder to steal.” Interesting. Pricy, but interesting. And I hate a thief, so I was glad to pay the $40 to keep my old Buick a bit safer. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The thief doesn’t care about the sheep; the thief only wants to steal. But Jesus cares about His sheep. He wants only what is best for His sheep. Hey, are you one of Jesus’ sheep? Do you belong to Jesus? Only you and Jesus knows.
