Minnie and Joe

My Granny Whitely had two dogs that were so very different.  Joe was a blood hound with a mournful howl.  Minnie was a mix-breed that was definitely the brains of the pair.  Minnie and Joe were always on the hunt for varmints.  They would track rabbits, raccoons, moles, groundhogs - you name it, they hunted it.  I loved to watch Joe when he was following a scent.  He was so intense with his nose to the ground.  His head would swing back and forth to make sure that he followed the trail accurately.  Nothing could distract him as he followed the trail.  Hey, we as Christians should be intense as we serve the Lord.  Too often we are careless and carefree.  If we make it to church or not … whatever.  But we should be fervent in our worship!  David spoke of a deer that was on the run.  The deer needed a drink of cool water so badly.  David said in Psalm 42:1&2, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God …” Hey, do we long for a relationship with the living God?  Do we follow intensely after the good Lord?  I hope we do.
