Ecclesiastes 2:11

Ecclesiastes 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. King Solomon’s words sound sort of sad and bitter. He seemed to say that working and saving wasn’t worth it. But is that true? Someone works hard and collects a lot of money in his life-time and then he dies. So, how much of that money does he take with him? That’s right, none of it. But there is a way that we can lay up treasures in heaven. You can invest your money in others and your investment will carry on when you pass away. And year by year in heaven, you will meet more and more people who you have helped to get to heaven. And boy, will they be grateful that you did! And the second way that you can send your money up to heaven is to give it to God’s work while you are here on earth. I heard a saying years ago:

Do your givin’ while you’re livin’
So you’re knowin’ where it’s goin’
