Song of Solomon 2:4
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. The
Song of Solomon is a love poem of Solomon’s wife written to Solomon. I suppose
that Solomon liked it so much that he preserved it as his own. It gets a little
mushy, but is exactly how Jesus Christ loves us. Jesus loves us and treats us
just like His precious bride. Jesus is in heaven preparing our heavenly home, just like
the Jewish bridegroom would have done for his beloved bride. And Jesus will be
excited to come back to earth someday and
snatch His sweet bride away to become His loving wife forever. So the
book of the Song of Solomon is a sweet picture of Christ’s love for us. Our
verse for today is part of a familiar chorus: His Banner over Me Is Love. And
truly, Jesus Christ loves us so much. Do we love Him right back?
