Hebrews 3:13

Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Have you seen football players getting each other hyped up before the game? They hit each other (no harm because they have pads and helmets) and get each other fired up so that they are motivated to do their best. Well that is exactly what the word exhort means. We should be encouraging each other to do good. When someone that we know is discouraged, we should give them a good Bible verse and let them know that we are praying for them. If a friend starts to whine we should say, “Hey, get with it! You know God has been good to all of us. Quit your whining!” We should shake them up and encourage them like the football players. Don’t let your friends get discouraged. And keep yourself accountable to them too. Tell them not to let you whine or complain. Make a deal: neither one of you will let the other one down. Satan will try to trick you or your friends just like he tricked Eve in the Garden of Eden. But don’t fall for Satan’s lies. And don’t let your friends fall for Satan’s lies either. Stick together with God. What a great alliance!
