Hebrews 4:12

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. God’s Word is not only a book; it is a living book that can make a difference in our lives. And not only is it a living book; it is a powerful book. The writer of Hebrews gives a great comparison. The Bible is like a two-edged sword. It is dangerous and powerful both coming and going. But how dangerous is a sword lying on a table? Not at all. That powerful two-edged sword is only powerful when it is picked up by a skillful swordsman and used. And by comparison, what use is a good book on the bookshelf? A book is designed to be read. So, the awesome power of God’s Word can be unleashed only when it is read by a faithful Christian. Hey, isn’t that what you are doing right now?!
