Faith vs. Fear

I heard Max Lucado interviewed yesterday.  He said, “Feed our faith and our fears will starve.  Leave our fears alone and they will grow all by themselves”  That hardly seems fair, does it?  Are your fears growing with the growing Covid-19 pandemic?  Some folk are just pessimistic and dwell on negativity, but in all of us, fear just seems to grow all on its own.  But we must work at increasing our faith in order for it to grow.  Why is that?  Well, I think that our fears have other sources besides us that are feeding them.  Our flesh is feeding our fears and Satan, our adversary, is feeding our fears.  So, the answer is to ask God to feed our faith and ask God to starve out our fears.  John, the apostle, said in I John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear …”  That’s it!  Sweet!  The closer we get to God and His love, the further we get from our selfishness and evil.  As our faith grows, our fears fade.  Hey, feed your faith today.  Can I give you some advice?  Close down facebook, put your computer to sleep, pick up your Bible, and read Psalm 91.  Your faith will grow, and your fears will fade.  Do it now.  I dare you!
