Puppy Mill

Every month or so another “puppy mill” is exposed in our state.  These are places where dogs are kept in extreme confinement and bred repeatedly only for their production of more puppies.  When the horrible pictures begin to surface, caring people get involved and do what they can to alleviate the suffering of these animals.  While the treatment of these poor dogs is deplorable, many folk forget the plight of a lost soul.  Just think of a child living in poverty with an alcoholic parent.  Abuse and fear are all that they know growing up.  And at the end of their miserable life, there is only separation from God for all eternity.  How sad!  But God did everything that He could to rescue them from perdition.  He gave His only begotten Son to pay for their redemption and rescue.  So the burden is upon us as Christians to share this good news of salvation with everyone.  Jesus stands ready to save, if they will only hear about His love.  Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  A puppy mill is terrible, but the human soul plunging into a Christ-less eternity is even more terrible.  Hey, let’s do what we can to share the good news of God’s salvation with someone today.
