What Is Ahead

I went to Maryland Wednesday to attend a funeral (please keep Uncle Dean in your prayers).  The traffic around Baltimore was horrific!  Even with five lanes, the “spaghetti bowl” intersection (as my kids used to call it) around the I-695 and I-70 junction took forever to get through.  So, Friday coming back, we left quite early, and the traffic was much more manageable.  As we were going out of Baltimore, the traffic on the other side coming in was just beginning to build.  The five lanes were full and slowing to a crawl.  What a way to start the workday!  But as we left the congestion behind and continued out of town, the traffic was sparse and was running well … for the moment.  I felt sorry for the commuters because they had no idea of the backup that lay ahead of them.  I wished that I could tell them, “Don’t go!  Take an alternate route!  There is danger ahead!”  But of course, I could not.  Hey, I am so glad that I can put my faith in a God who knows what is ahead.  I do not know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future in His hand!  Let me ask you, have you put your faith in the Lord?  Why not make that decision today?  Trust the One who knows what is ahead.  You’ll be glad that you did.  Proverbs 3:5&6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
