Monday morning, I woke up and 2:30 am, tossed and turned for a half hour, and just got up. It’s an old man thing. I can go to sleep, but I can’t stay asleep. So, I stumbled out of the bedroom and into the hallway and felt around the wall for the light switch. I felt the switch and was just ready to turn it on when I realized that my hand was a little too high. So I slid my hand down a bit and felt the other light switch … the right one. The one above it was the wrong light switch … the really wrong one! When I used to travel a lot, I put 10 outside floodlights in the soffit at each corner of the house so that my dear wife would feel safe. If she heard a noise at night when I wasn’t home, she could flip on one switch and the outside would be as bright as daytime (well, almost as bright). So I have 2 switches in the hallway: the lower one turns on the weak, 60 watt hallway light and the upper one turns on the searchlights that wake up all of my neighbors. And at 2:30 am, I need to be sure that I turn on the right switch! Hey, when you come to the end of your life, it’s not enough to think that you are ready to meet your Maker, you should KNOW that you are ready to meet your Maker. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” If you aren’t absolutely sure that you are ready to step out into eternity, now would be a good time to make sure that you are ready. Don’t put it off! Be sure! Message me and we can talk.
