Googletta

Often, I use Google to find directions.  I used to say to a person that I met, “Give me directions to your house.”  Now I just say, “Give me your street address, and I’ll be at your house.”  (Although it’s much easier, I find that I’m getting lazy.)  When I use Google, the lady talks me through each turn to get to my destination.  My grandsons have even given her a name.  The chicken on Paw Patrol is named Chickaletta, so the boys named the Google lady, “Googletta”.  And although she sounds personal, she isn’t personal.  I can’t explain to her the construction problem when she gives me directions.  I just take the detour, and she recalculates.  That’s because she is only a program; not a person.  Some folk think that the Holy Spirit is only a force, but He is not: the blessed Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.  The word for “Comforter” used in the Greek language was paraklētos.  The paraklete was a trusted slave who was sent with the young son when he was away from his father.  The paraklete went to school with the young man and helped him with his schoolwork.  The paraklete went to the market with the young man to keep him out of trouble.  The paraklete was in the background (discretely) as the young man talked with his friends, listening in on every conversation.  John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth …”  John 15:26, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.”  Hey, Googletta may give you directions, but only the Holy Spirit can give you advice.  And today, if you are wise, you will listen to that “still small voice” that will “guide you into all truth”.
