Guaranteed

 

Last week, I finally closed the estate of my Aunt Sophie.  She and Uncle John lived simply and saved regularly so that they could bless others.  In her will, she clearly stipulated that all of her money was to be divided among five ministries!  When I closed the estate account at her bank, a few dollars went to my checking account for two small outstanding bills.  The banker wrote me a cashier’s check, which was guaranteed by the bank.  When I deposited the cashier’s check, it was backed by the integrity of Truist Bank.  No one would question the check, because it was guaranteed.  Hey, when I get to heaven, there will be no question if I make it inside the pearly gates or not, because I am getting in based on the integrity of Jesus Christ!  The angel at the portal will not check if I have enough good works (which I don’t).  And while the angel is checking the list of who gets in, Jesus Christ slip up behind us and say, “Never mind the formalities; Gerald’s with me,” and I’m in!  Hey, Jesus knows my name because I am His son!  I get in because of Him; not because of me.  And if you ever make it into heaven one day, it will be because you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and in Him alone!  Jesus said in John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
