God is the ultimate recycler: He uses hard times to teach good lessons … to His dear children. God doesn’t waste these difficult events in our lives. If we are alert, we will learn lessons because of life’s problems. I Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” And, if we are wise, we will not rescue our children when they have trouble in their lives. We will instruct and protect them but not make excuses for them or bail them out. They must learn to resolve their own problems (within reason and with our direction). Say to your frustrated child (regardless of their age), “What do you think that the dear Lord is teaching you in this problem?” Use every moment as a teaching moment … just as God does.
