My son-in-law and his brothers have a greenhouse in Springfield, Tennessee, and I enjoy their posts every day (South Central Growers.com). The flowers are beautiful and are made sweeter since I have a family connection. Monday, their focus was on summer zinnias, a hardy flower for the hot August weather. While most flowers wilt in the hot sun, zinnias thrive. In their post, South Central Growers said, “Zinnias are often associated with endurance, lasting affection, and thoughts of friends, thanks to their ability to thrive in tough conditions and bloom all summer.” While other flowers may be far better with delicate eye-candy blooms, zinnias remain hardy in tough conditions. Hey, wouldn’t that be nice to be said of us?! Paul told young Timothy in II Timothy 2:3 to “… endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Dear Lord, please make me strong and true for You today, is my prayer.
