There is nothing more frustrating than working on a project and not having all of the materials and tools to complete the job. At least, that’s the way I see it. So, when I must go to Lowe’s or Home Depot for screws, if I need 10 flathead screws, I buy 20. My theory is that if I need 10, I’ll need a few more before I am finished with the project. Those extra screws that might cost me $2 but will save me a second trip to and from Lowe’s (an hour) and quite a bit of frustration. I like to use good screws because poor quality screws break and/or tear up my Phillips #2 bit (refer to the sentence above). I use star #25 head screws (see picture below) and keep a supply of star #25 bits to drive the screws. Each box of screws comes with a free bit (see the picture below). But the bits are itty bitty short, so I throw them away. I’ve often thought, if they wouldn’t include the useless bit, I could save 50¢ on a box of screws. But Thursday morning, I realized that those tiny bits fit into my 6” bit extender. So, if I use the extender, I can have a free bit with each new box of screws! No more buying bits, no more dull bits, just a free, sharp driver every time! Lately, have you stopped and taken inventory of your spiritual life? Are you still sharp in your Christian life? Are you as close to the Lord as you would like to be? Do you witness for the dear Lord, read your Bible and pray with purpose? James 4:8, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you ...” Take a few minutes and think. There might be a better way, or a better time, or a better motivation. Hey, do what it takes to be where you want to be in your relationship with the Lord. You’ll be glad that you did.
