Wednesday, I bought a car from a sweet neighbor. It had been her father’s car, and she was emotionally attached to it. So much so that it sat in her driveway without moving for 7 years! My old Scion X-B is in the process of being totaled by State Farm, so I needed a new-to-me set of wheels, and my neighbor agreed to sell her car at a bargain. I promised to give it a good home. With a new battery and some fresh fuel, the old ’97 Buick LeSabre Custom sprang to life at the first try! I took it through the car wash and spent some extended time cleaning out all of the cervices. Between the doors and under the hood, I knocked out 20 small wasp nests and several mud dabber nurseries. Yes, they were all ‘endangered species’. Ha, ha! Inactivity attracted squatters, but now the old Buick is back rollin’. Hey, have you been sedentary in your spiritual life too long? Have you been lax in the fruit of the spirit and other spiritual virtues? Why not take a minute and confess your coldness to the Lord and get those wasp nests out of your life?! Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” It’s time for a fresh start!
