I am not getting political; I am just using politics to make my spiritual application. That said, here I go into the weeds. As you may know from my post yesterday, I went to Costco for lunch Saturday. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza and a Pepsi. I sat down and ate my pizza (it was very good). And as I was chewing the chewy crust, I read the fine print on the paper plate. It read, “Compostable except in California.” Now, I know California has unique laws and regulations, but I did not know that they could regulate whether a paper plate would compost or not. It’s like they are regulating gravity or sunlight. So, a paper plate that composts in Nevada is not allowed to compost in California?! It reminds me of folk who think that they can get into heaven by the way that they choose. Hey, heaven is the abode of God, and HE decides how you get into heaven. Proverbs 19:21, “There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” If you want to get into heaven, you must go God’s way. End of discussion.
