I had a visit scheduled 24 hours after my cataract surgery last Thursday. The nurse said that I was doing well and improving according to plans. She said that the swelling/redness should subside in a couple of days and my vision should continue to improve. I am amazed at the brightness of my ‘repaired’ eye! Colors are so vibrant compared to the dingy hues of my other eye … and the other eye formerly was my better-of-the-two eyes! My left eye/right eye is like the light bulb samples at Lowe’s Home Improvement. They have two boxes that you can turn on to sample the two bulbs: one is the daylight LED bulb (my surgeryized eye) and the other is the soft, warm light (my unsurgeryed eye). I can’t imagine anyone wanting to live in that darker, soft white room. Oh, it is so much more comfortable and relaxing, but I would have to turn on both lights to see to work in the soft, warm-light room. When I explain life in Jesus Christ, folk blow me off and just choose to live in that mediocre, warm-white world. Hey, Jesus is the real light! Yes, he is. But pagans just don’t see it because they haven’t had spiritual cataract surgery! I think that cataract surgery is the best witness tool that I can think of! But I just can’t get folk to have cataract surgery just to understand spiritual concepts. I Thessalonians 5:4&5, “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”
