Worry

Eighteen months ago, Kathy and I had our yearly wellness check-ups with our primary care doctor.  Kathy had been anxious about her heart, her liver, her dialysis, and her feet.  She told Dr. Chaudhari that she knew she shouldn’t worry, but she just did.  She said, “I just have to worry about something.  It’s the Greek in me.  The Greeks even have worry beads.  Dr. Chaudhari, while I’m worrying about myself, is there anything that I can worry about for you?”  All three of us chuckled, and Dr. Chaudhari said, “Well, my hair is thinning.  You can worry about me going bald if you want to.”  And Kathy agreed to worry about Dr. Chaudhari’s hair for him.  Often, we just get into the habit of worrying.  We know that we can take our cares to the Lord and give them Him, but we just pick them up again!  I Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”  What a great verse!  We can throw all of our worries upon the Lord, because He cares for us!  He even cares for Dr. Chaudhari’s thinning hair!
